The Cosmic Calculation of Kali Yuga's True Duration
According to the Brahmand Tatwa (Universal Law), there are four cosmic ages in the material Universe. In each successive yuga, one pillar of Dharma collapses, reducing the age's duration and moral quality.
At the end of Kali Yuga, along with the destruction of the four legs of Dharma, extreme adversities such as natural calamities and famine will pummel the Earth. One can transcend to Satya Yuga by imbibing good virtues and following the teachings of Bhavishya Malika.
Kali Yuga = 4,000 years. Two Sandhya periods of 400 years each. Total: 4,000 + 800 = 4,800 years.
4,000 years of Kali + 400 years sandhya at beginning + 400 years at end = 4,800 years total.
After 4,000 years of Kali Yuga and 400 years of sandhya period, Lord Maha-Vishnu (Shree Nath) will incarnate on Earth.
The Panchasakha, under divine instruction, added 200 years to the scriptural 4,800, declaring the total duration to be 5,000 years:
Mahapurush Sishu Ananta Das clearly explains: when 5,000 years of Kali Yuga are complete, the pastimes of the devotees and the Supreme Lord will be revealed.
By writing the numeral zero three times and placing "5" on the left, Mahapurush indicates 5,000. After 5,000 years of Kali Yuga, Saturn will enter Meena Rashi (Pisces) — an astronomical transit scheduled to occur in 2025. As various Hindu Panjikas confirm we are in the 5,125th year of Kali Yuga, it is proven that Kali Yuga has already ended.
