Daily Dharmic Practice · Three Sacred Junctions

Tri-Sandhya

The Bhavishya Malika prescribes Tri-Sandhya as the central daily practice for Kali Yuga — prayer at three sacred junctions of the day: dawn, noon, and dusk. The complete guide to timings, prerequisites, and all six prescribed prayers.

The Three Sandhya Times

The word "Sandhya" means "junction" — the meeting points of day and night, when the cosmic energies are in transition. These are the most potent times for prayer and spiritual practice.

🌄
First Sandhya
Morning Sandhya
4:00 AM – 6:30 AM
The most auspicious time — the Brahma Muhurta. The mind is clearest, the world is quietest, and divine grace flows most freely. Rising before sunrise and offering prayer during this window is described in the Bhavishya Malika as the single most powerful daily spiritual practice.
☀️
Second Sandhya
Noon Sandhya
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
The midday junction when the sun is at its zenith. This sandhya bridges the morning and evening energies. Even a brief pause from daily activities to chant the Madhava naam or offer the noon prayers creates a powerful spiritual anchor in the middle of the day.
🌆
Third Sandhya
Evening Sandhya
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
The evening junction — the closing of the day. Offering prayer at dusk completes the three-fold daily devotional cycle. The Bhavishya Malika describes this as the time when Maa Biraja's blessings are most accessible, and when the soul's prayer reaches the divine court most directly.
Begin Simply
"If you cannot do all six prayers at once, begin with just the Madhava naam at each sandhya. Even this single sincere act, practiced daily, is the foundation of Dharma in Kali Yuga."
— Pandit Dr. Shri Kashinath Mishra

Prerequisites for Fruitful Practice

The Bhavishya Malika is explicit: spiritual practices are fruitful only when the practitioner maintains a pure and righteous life. These are not optional guidelines — they are the conditions that make prayer meaningful.

Pandit Ji teaches: A impure person who prays mechanically gains nothing, while a person of pure conduct who chants "Madhava" even once with a sincere heart gains immeasurably. Purity is not the goal — it is the vessel that holds the divine.

  • 🌿
    Vegetarianism
Complete abstinence from meat, fish, and eggs. The Bhavishya Malika prescribes vegetarianism as the foundation of Dharmic living.
  • 🚫
    No Intoxicants
Complete freedom from alcohol, tobacco, and all other intoxicants. A purified consciousness is the prerequisite for genuine spiritual experience.
  • 🧘
    Physical Purity
Bathe before the morning sandhya when possible. Maintain cleanliness of body as a foundation for cleanliness of mind and spirit.
  • 🕊️
    Purity of Conduct
Truthfulness, non-violence, respect for parents and elders, and compassion for the poor and needy are the ethical foundations of Dharma.
  • 📖
    Daily Bhagavat Reading
Pandit Ji strongly recommends reading at least a few verses of the Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran daily alongside the Tri-Sandhya practice.
  • 🙏
    Sincere Heart
More than any external condition, a sincere, humble heart is the essential prerequisite. The divine recognizes sincerity before ritual perfection.
Teaching from Bhavishya Malika
"The one who performs Tri-Sandhya with a pure body and sincere heart
is protected from all the afflictions of Kali Yuga.
Madhava Himself stands guard over such a devotee."
From the Bhavishya Malika teachings as expounded by Pandit Dr. Shri Kashinath Mishra — the promise behind the practice of Tri-Sandhya.

Prayer 02 · Foundation
Śrī Daśāvatāra Stotram — Hymn to the Ten Avatars (by Shri Jayadeva Ji)

The Daśāvatāra Stotram from Gita Govinda celebrates the ten incarnations of Lord Viṣṇu, ending with Lord Kalki — the avatar of our age.

Verse 1 — Matsya (Fish Avatar)
Pralaya payodhi-jale dhṛtavān asi vedam ।
vihita vahitra-caritram akhedam ॥
keśava dhṛta-mīna-śarīra, jaya jagadīśa hare ॥1॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of a fish! You easily acted as a boat to give protection to the Vedas immersed in the turbulent sea of devastation.
Verse 2 — Kūrma (Tortoise Avatar)
Kṣitirati-vipulatare tava tiṣṭhati pṛṣṭhe ।
dharaṇi-dharaṇa-kiṇa cakra-gariṣṭhe ॥
keśava dhṛta-kacchapa-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥2॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of a tortoise! The great Mandara Mountain rests upon your back as you sustain the entire universe.
Verse 3 — Varāha (Boar Avatar)
Vasati daśana-śikhare dharaṇī tava lagnā ।
śaśini kalaṅka-kaleva nimagnā ॥
keśava dhṛta-śūkara rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥3॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of a boar! The earth sits fixed upon the tip of your tusk like a spot upon the moon, rescued from the depths of the ocean.
Verse 4 — Narasiṃha (Man-Lion Avatar)
tava kara-kamala-vare nakham-adbhuta-śṛṅgam ।
dalita-hiraṇyakaśipu-tanu-bhṛṅgam ॥
keśava dhṛta-narahari-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥4॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Narasiṃha! Your wondrous nails crushed the body of the demon Hiraṇyakaśipu like an insect.
Verse 5 — Vāmana (Dwarf Avatar)
chalayasi vikramaṇe balim-adbhuta-vāmana ।
pada-nakha-nīra-janita-jana-pāvana ॥
keśava dhṛta-vāmana-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥5॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Vāmana! You tricked the demon king Bali and covered the universe in three steps; the water that washed your lotus feet purified all souls.
Verse 6 — Paraśurāma (Axe-Wielder)
kṣatriya-rudhira-maye jagad-apagata-pāpam ।
snapayasi payasi śamita-bhava-tāpam ॥
keśava dhṛta-bhṛgupati-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥6॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Paraśurāma! You removed the sins of the world and relieved the distress of those tormented by material existence.
Verse 7 — Rāma
vitarasi dikṣu raṇe dik-pati-kamanīyam ।
daśa-mukha-mauli-balim ramaṇīyam ॥
keśava dhṛta-raghupati-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥7॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Rāma! In the battle of Lanka, You destroyed ten-headed Rāvaṇa and offered his heads as a sacrifice to the presiding deities of all directions.
Verse 8 — Balarāma
vahasi vapuṣi viśade vasanam jaladābham ।
hala-hati-bhīti-milita-yamunābham ॥
keśava dhṛta-haladhara-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥8॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Balarāma, the wielder of the plow! On your brilliant white body you wear garments the colour of a fresh blue rain cloud, like the River Yamunā in fearful awe of your plowshare.
Verse 9 — Buddha
nindasi yajña-vidher ahaha śruti jātam ।
sadaya-hṛdaya-darśita-paśu-ghātam ॥
keśava dhṛta-buddha-śarīra jaya jagadīśa hare ॥9॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Buddha! With a compassionate heart you showed protection to all animals, teaching mercy as the supreme virtue.
Verse 10 — Kalki Avatar
mleccha-nivaha-nidhane kalayasi karavālam ।
dhūmaketum-iva kim-api karālam ॥
keśava dhṛta-kalki-śarīra jaya jagadīśa hare ॥10॥
O Keshava! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of Kalki! You carry a sword blazing like a comet to destroy the barbarians at the end of the world. All glories to Lord Kalki!
Verse 11 — Phalaśruti (Concluding Verse)
śrī-jayadeva-kaver-idam-uditam-udāram ।
śṛṇu sukha-daṁ śubha-daṁ bhava-sāram ॥
keśava dhṛta-daśavidha-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare ॥11॥
O Lord Keshava who has assumed ten divine forms! This beautiful and uplifting hymn has been composed by the poet Jayadeva. Please listen to it — it brings happiness, auspiciousness, and is the very essence of spiritual knowledge.
Prayer 03 · Divine Power
Durgā-Mādhaba Stuti — Praise of Durgā-Mādhaba

A devotional prayer addressing Lord Jagannath in His form as both the powerful Mādhaba and the divine Durgā — acknowledging the unity of the masculine and feminine divine principles.

Refrain (repeated after each verse)
Jaya he durgā mādhaba kṛpāmaya kṛpāmayī ।
Verse 1
durgā nku sebī mādhaba hoile mo dīaṅ sāīṅ ॥1॥
Jaya he …
O Durgā, O Mādhaba, full of compassion! When I worship Durgā, Mādhaba becomes my Lord.
Verse 2
Bahū rupe jaya durge, byāpī achu sarba ṭhābe ।
ramā umā bāṇī rādhā to chaḍā anya ke nāhi ॥2॥
Jaya he …
Victory to Durgā who pervades all forms and all places! There is none other than you — as Ramā, Umā, Vāṇī, and Rādhā, you alone exist.
Verse 3
Madana mohana rupe byāpī achu sarba ṭhābe ।
mohana citta mohilū śrī sarba maṅgalā tuhī ॥3॥
Jaya he …
In the form of Madana Mohana you pervade everywhere. You enchant all minds. You are Śrī, the auspicious one, the all-good one.
Verse 4
Dharma sansthāpane janma yadī hvanti nārāyaṇa ।
durgā nku chāḍī mādhaba khelibāra śakti kāhiṅ ॥4॥
Jaya he …
When Nārāyaṇa takes birth to re-establish Dharma, where is the power for Mādhaba to play without Durgā?
Verse 5
Mādhaba nka khela pāiṅ deha dharū mahāmāyī ।
Mādhaba nku pati putra rupe khelāuchu tuhī ॥5॥
Jaya he …
O Mahāmāyī, you take on a body for the sake of Mādhaba's divine play. You cause Mādhaba to play as both husband and child.
Verse 6
Mādhaba nku durgā kole jehuṅ dekhe benī ḍole ।
tāhāra bhāgyara kathā brahmā śibe na jogāī ॥6॥
Jaya he …
Whoever sees Mādhaba in Durgā's lap — their mind never wavers again. The fortune of such a person cannot be described even by Brahmā and Śiva.
Verse 7
Jaya durgati nāśinī abhirāma ra jananī ।
śubhāgamana karantu mādhaba nku kole neī ॥7॥
Jaya he …
Victory to the destroyer of misfortune, the mother of all that is beautiful! May you come auspiciously, taking Mādhaba into your lap.

Pandit Ji's Daily Recommendation

Daily Bhagavat Reading

Pandit Ji strongly recommends reading at least one chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran daily alongside the Tri-Sandhya practice. The Bhagavat is the Srimad Bhagavatam — the crown jewel of all Puranas — spoken by Shukadeva Gosvami to King Parikshit. Daily reading purifies the mind, cultivates devotion (bhakti), and prepares the soul for the dawn of Satya Yuga.

Even one verse read with sincerity each day is sufficient. The key is consistency — just as the Tri-Sandhya must be performed at all three sandhya times without fail.
