Kali Yuga has already ended. To validate this fact, the revered sages of the Panchasakha explicitly described in their Bhavishya Malika books the indications that signify the end of the Yuga. They are listed below across five categories.
A — Changes in Human Civilization
The following social transformations were prophesied to occur at the completion of Kali Yuga. As you read them, observe how many are already clearly visible in today's world:
- Many men and women will suffer from infertility
- Gender transformation will be medically feasible
- Children will resort to murdering parents for wealth
- The tradition of joint family will disappear
- Children will abandon old parents to old age homes
- People will rely heavily on medicines to survive
- Abortion and infanticide will become common
- Extra-marital affairs will become commonplace
- Human society will stop worshipping Gods and Goddesses
- Children will not attend parents' funeral rites
- Marriages will occur between man and man
- Marriages will occur between women
- Marriages will occur between brother and sister
- Men will adopt unconventional hairstyles
- Everyone will adopt western culture and dress
- Married women will not wear vermilion (sindoor)
- People will suffer premature death
- People will shun the Bhagavad Gita and sacred texts
- People will stop worshiping Maa Tulsi
- People will stop worshiping local deities
- The number of liars will increase significantly
- Sinful individuals will be honored in society
- Younger men will marry older women
- Wise men will forsake the Gayatri mantra
- Protectors will become predators
- Human society will reject Vedic principles
- Women will dress inappropriately and provocatively
- Women will resort to prostitution
- There will be no righteous king to reign over countries
- People will feign religiosity while eating meat
- People will consume liquor with holy offerings of Lord Jagannath
- Bad habits of eating and sleeping at odd times
- Many young couples will covertly abort the fetus
- Men will harass and force themselves on women
- Atmosphere of discontent will prevail in all families
B — Changes in Nature and the Five Elements
Beyond society, Bhavishya Malika prophesied extraordinary changes in nature, the elements, and the environment:
- The Cuckoo (Koel) will sing at midnight
- Mango trees will bloom out of season
- Neem trees will bloom and bear fruit out of season
- Various trees will bloom and bear fruits untimely
- Paddy will grow in bamboo trees
- Agricultural fields will be infested with insects
- Droughts and famines will manifest in many places
- Many humans and animals will die due to lightning
- Cows will die prematurely
- Unknown diseases will spread among humans and animals
- 64 types of epidemics will spread on Earth
- Untimely change of seasons — six seasons in 13 days
- Untimely flash floods will occur in rivers
- Sun's rays will be ten times more intense
- Mist and fog will persist during daytime
- Frequent cyclones with high tidal waves
- Floods in the deserts
- Heavy rainfalls causing floods and landslides on mountaintops
- Aquatic and sea creatures will die in large numbers
- Wild animals will enter human habitats
- Polar ice caps will begin to melt
- Severe wildfires threatening millions of animals
- Frequent earthquakes will shake many parts of the world daily
- Jackals will howl during the day
- The cock's crown will change from red to white
- Lotus flowers will bloom in the month of Vaishakh
- Everywhere there will be smoke and low visibility
- Cloudburst rains on mountains and plains
- Every month, some places will witness storms and tornadoes
- Many dormant volcanoes will become active
C — Changes in Planets and Constellations
Cosmic and astronomical signs were also foretold to accompany the end of Kali Yuga:
- The Moon's rays will appear hazy
- The Sun's rays will be very strong
- Cycles of rare thirteen-day phases will occur frequently
- Meteorites will frequently fall from the sky
- Amavasya and Sankranti will occur on the same day frequently
- Purnima and Sankranti will occur on the same day frequently
- Solar eclipse on new Moon and lunar eclipse on full Moon within the same fortnight
- Unnatural halo around Sun and Moon at unexpected times
- Abnormal planetary movements witnessed frequently
- Sun's rays will become ten times more intense
- Frequent changes in speed of planetary movements
- Planets and constellations will not remain in designated positions
- Sun and Moon will not be visible for seven days and nights — complete darkness
- Lord Kalki will establish a new Sun, new Moon, and new constellations
D — Degeneration in Places of Worship
Signs of spiritual degeneration in temples and sacred sites:
- Many temples will be struck by lightning
- Flags of temples will get burnt due to lightning
- Theft and vandalism will be rampant — even idols will be stolen
- People will commit evil acts inside temples
- Many priests will perform puja after consuming meat and alcohol
- Many visitors will visit temples after consuming meat and alcohol
- Many temples and spiritual centers will lack spirituality
- Deities will not be worshiped in many places
- Because of sinful deeds, the Gods will abandon their shrines
E — Degeneration of Gurus and Disciples
Among the most alarming prophecies are those about the corruption of the spiritual master-disciple relationship. 22 specific signs were foretold, including: false Gurus practicing sorcery; self-declared saints wearing orange robes; Gurus marrying disciples; people calling themselves Lord Kalki for personal gain; Brahmacharis abandoning celibacy; illiterate people wearing sacred threads to deceive the innocent.
In the Bhavishya Malika, the Panchasakha have emphatically declared that all these discernible signs will be witnessed at the completion of Kali Yuga. Today, we are seeing many of the signs. It is evident that Kali Yuga has ended, and we are now witnessing the cusp of Kali Yuga and Satya Yuga — known as the Yuga-Sandhya or Sangam Yuga.
